What's Hot on the Net
Jill Moorman
Do you ever travel, or plan trips, for business? Here are some sites that may be helpful.
Flying to another city to install a new machine, and you need to find an electrical contractor there? Try using Switchboard. Click on the "Find Business" icon, then fill in the category (e.g. "electric contractor"), city and state. Whala (how do you spell that?), a nice list from which to choose!
If you are driving, and need directions to your business (or personal) destination, Maps On Us is great! You type in your start and end location addresses, and a route map is created for you. Want step-by-step directions? Select that option, and it will also provide a separate map for each turn!
For a weather forecast of your final destination, try the Weather Channel. This page will also tell you of domestic flight delays.
For discount airfares, try services like Airfare.com, which claims to have the "Best Discount Airfares on the Net". You can use their system to find the best flight route and/or prices. Just enter your origin and destination cities, dates and times. It will show you how many intermediate stops you'll have on the way, as well as alternate times you may want to fly that day.
Of course airlines like Delta and United have their own homepages, complete with flight info, frequent flyer mile updates, etc.
