Tech Tips

For all you users of Windows 95, have you ever needed to reboot, but not go through the whole startup sequence? Tech Tips has the answer! This is great for those times when you just need to free up some resources, or any time when a full reboot is unnecessary.

Go into Notepad and type "@exit".

Save it in the root directory of your boot drive as "restart.bat". Now, right click on the desktop and click on NEW, and shortcut. The command line will be: "c:\restart.bat"

Click NEXT.

Select an icon and click finish.

Right click on your new icon and click on properties. Click on the program tab and then the advanced button. Check MS-DOS mode and uncheck "Warn Before Entering MS-DOS Mode". Click OK twice and you're done. Double clicking on the restart.bat icon will send you through an immediate reboot sequence.
