Seagate Software’s Backup Exec will also become part of the WIN98 operating system. Backup Exec will be an upgrade to the WIN95 version, including an emergency recovery system. The emergency recover system will automatically rebuild the operating system from the latest completed backup from the tape device. The backup software will also protect long files names and the WIN98 registry. The software will support a large number of backup devices, including tape and other removable storage devices.
Seagate’s Backup Exec software will also be used in future NT releases.
MS Office 97 Service Pack Available
Microsoft has re-released the service pack for Office 97. A service pack includes bug fixes and updates. They released one on the web a few weeks ago, but pulled it off when a new bug was discovered. The service pack is available for downloading at http://www.microsoft.com/Office/Office97/ServiceRelease/.
