MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
September 97
Greetings Fellow Members,
I would like to thank GECOM and Brad Speer for inviting our group to see their computer facilities and for providing lunch. It was appreciated.
Today I would like to talk about re-engineering. This is a term many of us are familiar with. It describes a process where you re-evaluate the way that you do business. You examine your past successes and failures, review the sales and marketing data, and make the decisions that will help your business remain competitive. Some of the decisions are hard to make, such as out-sourcing an administrative function and laying-off several employees. Some decisions may not be popular at the time, but hopefully will make the company stronger in the long run.
I think that it is time to re-engineer GADPA. We need to look back at what we have done, re-evaluate our charter and our mission, review the current state of computer systems and data management and make the decisions that will make GADPA a better and stronger group. I welcome your comments and suggestions. If I get enough positive feedback, I will put together a committee to re-engineer GADPA and present their ideas to the group for approval. If you have any comments, or would like to serve on the committee, call me at 663-0252 or e-mail at
kmenk00@mail.gpbx.net.With your help, we can set the course that will take GADPA into the future.
See you at the next meeting.
Kevin
