Special Class Projects
Three Regions of Indiana
- The class made salt water maps.
- The students designed and split Indiana into three regions on the computer.
Continents
- The students paper-mached punchballs into globes and painted them with
continents and water!!
- They also wrote reports on each continent and ocean.
Native Americans
- The class designed different homes the Native Americans lived in.
- The class cooked some of their foods and made different crafts.
- The students wrote myths, made mocassins, head bands, vests, and bead
necklaces.
American Revolution
- The class built forts with block houses, stockade fences, etc.
Pioneer Days
- The class is getting ready to have a pioneer day where they will dress
as pioneers.
- The class visited Simmons School, which is a one room school house
at Hope, Indiana.
- The students made different pioneer foods, crafts and homes.
Civil War
- Near the end of the school year, the class will re-enact this war by
splitting the room into North and South. The war will rage on with battle
after battle of kickball, culminating with a water balloon fight as the
final battle of the war.
