Three buildings house the elementary school program in kindergarten through fourth grade. The staff in each building works to meet the needs of all children, fostering healthy self-concepts which allow children to develop and learn to their fullest potential. Basic skills are taught in an orderly, safe and caring environment. The goal is to create happy places to learn -- a place just for kids. Our programs include:
- Special area teachers for music, art, physical education and challenge classes
- Academic programs which stress reading, mathematics, writing, language, science and health, social studies and regular participation in spelling bees, learning fairs, and writing contests
- Frequent evaluation of student progress and programs
- Media centers which house large, up-to-date collections of books and other media materials
- Recognition of students' birthdays, achievements, and successes
- Computer labs used as an extension of the classroom learning process which include basic skills and word processing
- Educational field trips to areas of interest in Greensburg and surrounding sites
- After-school study clubs to provide additional help for students
- Active P.T.O. groups that support our schools both with volunteers and extra funds
- Special education programs at each building to meet the needs of handicapped students
- Day care and Latchkey programs available for after-school child care
- All three schools are fully accredited by the State of Indiana
- Reading Recovery is available at Billings and Washington Schools
