SW 60 ACCIDENT

TWO WERE TAKEN BY LIFELINE HELICOPTER TO METHODIST HOSPITAL IN INDIANAPOLIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON. ACCORDING TO INFORMATION FROM THE DECATUR COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, THE ACCIDENT INVOLVED VEHICLES BEING DRIVEN BY 20-YEAR OLD STACEY WITON OF 434 NORTH BROADWAY IN GREENSBURG AND 18-YEAR OLD LEE SCHOETTMER OF 4874 WEST COUNTY ROAD 300 SOUTH. THE CRASH OCCURED ON COUNTY ROAD SOUTHWEST 60 AT 500 SOUTH. SHERIFF'S DEPUTY DARREN LUCAS SAID THAT THE WITON VEHICLE WAS SOUTHBOUND ON SOUTHWEST 60, THE SCHOETTMER VEHICLE WAS NORTHBOUND AND THEY HIT HEAD-ON.

WITON WAS UNCONSCIOUS AT THE SCENE. METHODIST HOSPITAL SENT TWO LIFELINE HELICOPTERS WHICH LANDED AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT TO MAKE THE TRANSPORT. SOUTHWEST 60 WAS CLOSED FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. DEPUTY LUCAS SAID THAT THE INVESTIGATION IS CONTINUING. INDIANA STATE POLICE,

THE GREENSBURG AND LETTS FIRE DEPARTMENTS, AND DECATUR COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES ASSISTED AT THE SCENE.
